How does a Tora consultation work?
Your care is led by qualified Australian doctors. A real-time consultation is required before anything is prescribed, and any treatment is prescribed only if deemed medically appropriate. Care is doctor-led and monitored with regular review.
Will a real doctor see me, or is it just a form?
A doctor sees you. A short assessment helps us prepare, but it does not replace the consultation. Every plan begins with a real-time consultation with one of our doctors, who reviews your history, discusses your goals, and explains what can and cannot be supported.
Is my health data private?
Your data is handled under the Australian Privacy Principles. It is used to provide your care and is never sold. See our privacy policy for full detail.
What happens in the initial consultation?
Your Tora doctor reviews your history and goals in a real-time consultation. They discuss relevant pathology and explain what can and cannot be supported. If deemed medically appropriate, your doctor may recommend a personalised plan. There is no obligation to start anything.
I have been told my results are normal. Why is Tora different?
A result inside the normal range does not always explain how you feel, and we hear that often. Our doctors take time to look at the wider picture and your history together. We explain what we find in plain language. Assessment is exploratory and is not a diagnosis. Your GP stays your primary doctor for everything else.
What if I am already on other medication?
Your consultation includes a review of your current medications. Your doctor checks for interactions and may coordinate with your GP or other treating doctors before recommending anything new. Bring a list of what you take, including supplements.
Will I get locked into a subscription?
No. There are no lock-in contracts. You can cancel or pause your program through the patient portal, subject to your program terms. You see the full cost before you commit, with no hidden fees.
Does Medicare apply, and what will it cost?
Initial consultations are private and are not bulk-billed. Pathology referrals may be bulk-billed at many Australian collection centres where you meet the referral criteria, subject to your eligibility. We tell you what applies before you commit.
How soon will I notice a difference?
This depends on your goals, your history and your results, so we will not promise a timeline. Your doctor sets clear expectations in your initial consultation and reviews your plan with regular follow-up. Timeframes vary based on individual assessment. Individual results vary based on your unique biology and your commitment to the program.
Who is Tora for?
Adults across Australia who want considered, doctor-led care guided by pathology rather than guesswork. Care covers Metabolic Health, Recovery Support, Sexual Health, Gut Health, Performance, Healthy Ageing, Energy and Vitality, and Weight Management. It is for women and men.
How do I get started?
Book an initial consultation online. Your doctor reviews your history and arranges any pathology that is clinically appropriate. They then discuss whether a plan suits you, if deemed medically appropriate.
Can I get this if I live regionally?
Yes. Care is delivered Australia-wide by telehealth. Telehealth is not suitable for every concern, and your doctor may recommend in-person assessment, GP review, further investigation or no treatment depending on your circumstances.
